Comprised largely of inferior ships, starfighters created from plans stolen from Imperial projects, and the ugly organic monstrosities of the Calamarians, the Rebel fleet is a hodge-podge array of desperate freedom fighters. In recent years, with the decline of the Empire, the New Republic has proven capable of designing new and improved starships, though largely they are reduced to seizing old Imperial Star Destroyers and refitting them.
