Imperial Squadrons

Avenger Squadron
This squadron of starfighters was proposed by Ysanne Isard to Corran Horn, while Horn was imprisoned at Lusankya. She told him that Avenger Squadron would be his to command against the Rogue Squadron. This, among other promises and deceptions, did not lure Horn into her control.

Black Squadron
This was the flight of hand-picked Imperial soldiers who flew with Darth Vader during the period around the Battle of Yavin. They were stationed aboard the first Death Star, and were rotated to maintain combat readiness.

Bombard Squadron
An Imperial Navy division consisting of two torpedo spheres, a skirmish line of starships, and a line of pursuit ships. In total, up to 28 ships make up a Bombard Squadron. They were assigned to planets which had successfully overcome Imperial control, and had a strong military presence. The Bombard Squadron would then lay siege to the world, overtaking the rebellious inhabitants more quickly than a prolonged ground assault.

Broadaxe Squadron
This Imperial fighter group was part of the fleet assigned to the Iron Fist by Warlord Zsinj. They were assigned to assist the false 181st Fighter Group during their protection of the planet Comkin Five, which Zsinj believed was the target of a New Republic raid. The information about the raid, gained from Gara Petothel, proved accurate, and the two squadrons were thrust into battle. Gara joined the Broadaxe group for the battle, and was able to send off a coded message to Wraith Squadron during the fight.

Death From Above
This was the name of one of the Imperial squadrons dispatched to take Kwymar Sector, during the Galactic Civil War.

Drake Squadron
This Imperial fighter group was supposedly attached to the Night Terror, and was under the command of Captain Maristo.

Elite Squadron
One of the squadrons of TIE Fighters maintained by the Thyferran Home Defense Corps, it was commanded by Erisi Dlarir.

Emperor's Shield, The
This squadron of TIE Fighter pilots was trained by Admiral Thrawn and given missions in the Outer Rim during the height of the Galactic Civil War. They were later assigned to protect Emperor Palpatine during his inspection of the second Death Star.

Emperor's Sword, The
This squadron of TIE Fighters was trained to protect Emperor Palpatine whenever he traveled away from Coruscant. Despite their mission, the squadron often flew older models of TIE Fighters because of their skills and experience with them.

Fate's Judges
This TIE Interceptor squadron was based in the Sevarcos System's asteroid belt.

Fourth Attack Squadron
This group of Imperial Victory-class Star Destroyers was destroyed by Alliance starfighters at the Battle of Denab. The Alliance pilots realized that the Victory-class ship was fairly slow, and found that it could concentrate all firepower on a single ship and destroy it before it could escape. The Fourth Attack Squadron fought bravely, but in the end the Alliance's tactics took out the entire squadron.

Garqi Eagles
This was the squadron name used by the Imperial pilots that were garrisoned on Garqi shortly after the Battle of Endor.

GoldWing Squadron
Designated 20/604, this was one of two starfighter squadrons commanded by Vel Terno and assigned to protect space station 2LC/Blue during the Galactic Civil War.

Hammer Squadron

Interloper Squadron
One of the TIE Defender squadrons dispatched by Colonel Vessery to recover Rogue Squadron above Corvis Minor Five.

Might Squadron
One of the squadrons of TIE Fighters maintained by the Thyferran Home Defense Corps.

Obsidian Squadron
This wing of Imperial TIE Fighters was specially modified to fly in atmospheres, and had special high-output solar panels to boost weapons strength. The pilots of Obsidian Squadron were also specially trained. These pilots were assigned to the garrison on Cloud City. During the construction of the second Death Star near Endor, Obsidian Squadron was called in to help defend the space station during its construction.

Onyx Squadron
This was the first full squadrong of TIE Defenders produced for duty by the Empire. They saw action during the Battle of Endor.

Requiem Squadron
This was the name of the experimental TIE Defender group led by Antar Roat, as part of Ysanne Isard's plans to infiltrate Ciutric and defeat Prince-Admiral Krennel. The squadron was made up of the surviving pilots of Rogue Squadron, piloting TIE Defenders supplied by Colonel Vessery.

Saber Squadron
Led by Soontir Fel, this TIE Interceptor squadron was formed to defend the second Death Star during its construction over the forest moon of Endor. Membership in the squadron required a minimum of ten kills by a pilot, and their fighters were painted with a bloodstripe to indicate their skills. The squadron was assigned the responsibility of protecting the Avenger during the Battle of Endor.

Scimitar Assault Wing
Known as the White Death because of the light-colored bodies of their starfighters and bombers, this subgroup of the Qeimet fleet consists of three TIE Bomber squadrons, two TIE Fighter squadrons, and a recon/drop ship squadron. Under the command of Tomax Bren, the White Death squadrons bombarded key enemy emplacements, taking care not to destroy potentially useful locations. In the wake of the death of Grand Admiral Thrawn, Captain Bren and the Scimitar Assault Wing went into hiding.

Scimitar Squadron
This Imperial TIE Bomber squadron flew regular missions in defense of the shield generator emplacement on the forest moon of Endor, in defense of the second Death Star during its construction.

Scythe Squadron
This Imperial TIE Fighter group was assigned to defend the second Death Star during the Battle of Endor. Their primary mission was to identify and eliminate any Alliance starfighters which attempted to destroy the battle station from within. The fighters of this group were given P-w702 upgraded maneuvering thrusters to give them more control during flight within the superstructure of the Death Star.

Stranger Squadron
One of the TIE Defender squadrons dispatched by Colonel Vessery to recover Rogue Squadron above Corvis Minor Five.

Sun Squadron
The designation of the TIE Fighters garrisoned at Revos, on the planet Storinal, shortly after the Battle of Endor.

Vibroaxe Squadron
This group of space pirates assisted Warlord Zsinj in his attempt to steal the Razor's Kiss. Their leader was a high-strung Devaronian male who was extremely irate at Zsinj and his forces after the attempt, since the Vibroaxes had no idea they'd be assaulting Kuat itself. They had planned on fighting X-Wings and Y-Wings, and they were unable to change tactics quickly enough to avoid over fifty percent losses of hardware and pilots.

Virile Squadron
One of the squadrons of TIE Fighters maintained by the Thyferran Home Defense Corps.

133rd Imperial Fighter Group
This squadron of TIE Interceptors was part of the fleet commanded by Xandel Carivus, as the leader of the Imperial Interim Ruling Council. They were decimated by the forces of Baron D'Asta when Carivus had Feena D'Asta imprisoned.

181st Imperial Fighter Group
This was the TIE Fighter squadron made famous by Soontir Fel during the early years of the New Republic. It was originally a full Wing, but was downsized shortly after the Battle of Yavin. The 181st served during the Battle of Endor, and fled after Captain Pellaeon ordered the retreat of the Imperial forces after the death of Emperor Palpatine. It was believed that this group was assigned to Warlord Zsinj's fleet, although the exact reasons weren't discovered until Admiral Rogriss revealed that the actual 181st was still an Imperial unit. Zsinj himself had created a duplicate 181st, with Tetran Cowall acting as Soontir Fel, in the hopes of drawing Rogue Squadron into a trap.

20/604

Fel served in the sixth Squadron of the Wing during the battle against the Lortan fanatics. He turned down a chance to transfer to another unit when Tessra returned from other duty, in an effort to remain a pilot with the squadron. The 37th Wing later took part in the Battle of Nal Hutta.
