Incom Industries
Incom is most famous for its fighter designs, popularized around the time of the Empire. The unstable nature of the galaxy during that period allowed the company to sell ships to both the Empire and Alliance/New Republic, even as the Empire took control of the corporation and many of its designers left to found a competing firm. Headquartered on Coromon Island, on the planet Fresia, Incom manufactured the X-wing, the T-16 skyhopper, and other starship components. They are generally considered top-of-the-line in the industries they choose to enter, a trait that Incom had maintained for over two thousand years. They chose to ignore the sweeping changes that occurred when Emperor Palpatine took control of the galaxy. The increasing pressure of Imperial rule angered many of its top scientists and engineers, and they defected to the Alliance, carrying with them the plans to the X-Wing. The remaining Incom employees were quickly nationalized by the Empire, and the company's star dwindled. Few new designs have came from Incom until the introduction of the I-7 Howlrunner, during the reemergence of Palpatine on Byss. T-16 Skyhopper |
