Corellian Engineering Corporation

The Corellian Engineering Corporation (CEC) is based on Corellia, and is one of the oldest starship corporations in the galaxy. Manufacturers of some of the galaxy's best starships and stardrives, CEC has grown over the millennia to become one of the three largest producers of starships, along with Kuat Drive Yards and Sienar Fleet Systems.The company primarily produces civilian vessels, although it occasionally builds specialized warships for markets not given attention by Kuat Drive Yards and similar corporations. Its ships range in size from a few meters to several kilometers, depending on the application. Nonetheless, CEC is best known for its moderately-armed, easily-modified freighters.

CEC has the advantage of being successful in the civilian market, as well as the simple fact that Corellians are incredibly adept in the areas of starship design. CEC became one of the Corporate Sector Authority's original Contributing Sponsors when the New Order allowed the Authority to gain control of the Corporate Sector.

Among CEC's most notorious creations are the Action V and VI transports, the Corellian Corvette, and YT-1300 Freighter. CEC's primary customers are Rebels and smugglers. Talon Karrde's personal ship Wild Karrde was a customized Action VI Transport, Bossk's ship Hound's Tooth was a YV-666, and the infamous Outrider, nemesis of the Black Sun organization, was a YT-2400 Freighter. But the most notorious CEC ship was the Millennium Falcon, Han Solo's overachieving YT-1300 Freighter.
