Not a particularly impressive craft, the Dominator combines the best of all the ships in the SFS 418 series, but only to a degree. Therefore, it is multi-functional but mediocre in the performance of each of its tasks. It has been reduced to serving in low priority areas. The Dominator has only two gravity well generators, and its other weapons are rather scant, and therefore not very effective. Incorporating the best of the Interceptor, the Dominator carries three TIE squadrons, which though sound good is an error in the Imperial navy. Three squadrons together is an anomaly: typically the Imperial fleet works with a wing of TIEs (six squadrons) or a group (two squadrons).
